Behavioral Disorders are characterized by behavioral and emotional difficulties, varying according to the symptoms manifested by the child/young person.
Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) is one of the most common behavioral disorders and is characterized by a recurrent pattern of negative, defiant, disobedient and hostile behavior towards authority figures. On the other hand, Conduct Disorder (CD) is characterized by a persistent and repetitive pattern of behavior in which the basic rights of others or important social rules or norms appropriate to the child/young person's age are violated.
Behavioral Disorders significantly interfere with the child/young person's development and behavior in the contexts in which they are involved, causing difficulties with peer groups, family, and other adults involved in their lives, such as teachers.
At NeuroImprove Clinic, intervention in Behavioral Disorders is conducted through Psychology and Neurofeedback sessions.
After an assessment with Quantitative Electroencephalogram (qEEG), a survey is conducted regarding the areas where the child exhibits difficulties, the behaviors they present, and their developmental trajectory. The neurological assessment will allow us to find the ideal activity level in each region of the brain, which will be promoted through Neurofeedback training as the child learns to restore balance in their brain function.
In turn, Psychology sessions will allow working with the child and parents on strategies to deal with experienced difficulties, promoting their healthy development, and stimulating behaviors appropriate for their age.
