Yes, we also carry out diagnostics.
We use qEEG (quantitative electroencephalogram) and other Clinical Psychology tools as part of our initial assessment to provide a more accurate diagnosis.
Our clinic is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
However, we perform the first evaluations only from Monday to Friday, until 16:30/17:00, since, after this time, the brain is already more tired of the day and the results for a first evaluation may not be as accurate.
Learn about our approach:
1- Initial Assessment: We used the Quantitative Electroencephalogram (qEEG) to assess brain electrical activity and identify areas that require intervention.
2- Report and Objective Definition: We discuss the evaluation results with the patient and define personalized therapeutic objectives.
3- Personalized Treatment Plan: We have developed a treatment plan that may include Neurofeedback and Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy.
4- Training Sessions: During Neurofeedback sessions, the patient participates in activities that provide real-time feedback on brain activity, helping the brain to self-regulate.
5- Monitoring and Adjustments: We monitor patient progress and make treatment adjustments as needed.
Our main treatments involve Neurofeedback and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to help children and adults overcome the challenges associated with hyperactivity, attention deficit and anxiety.
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive technique that quantifies and trains brain activity, adjusting it to the brain waves expected for each person, considering age and gender.
This process promotes autoregulation and can minimize or even correct dysregulations identified in the pattern of brain activity.
As a result, the brain starts to work in a more balanced way, improving the individual's physical and psychological well-being.
We attend children from 5 years of age.
Our protocols were developed for this age group, as they require a minimum level of collaboration that can be difficult for younger children.
Yes, we offer treatments both for children (from 5 years old) and for adults of any age group.

No, at NeuroImprove we don't use medication. Our focus is on non-invasive approaches, such as Neurofeedback and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, which help develop self-regulation mechanisms and improve well-being in a natural way.
However, if the need for the introduction or adjustment of medication is identified, we work together with the prescribing physicians to ensure an integrated and adequate follow-up.
No, Neurofeedback doesn't interfere with medication. It is a non-invasive technique that can complement the use of medications, helping to improve focus, self-regulation, and well-being.
Any medication adjustment must be made exclusively by the prescribing physician, and we work together to ensure an integrated and safe approach.
Yes, for families who live far away, we can organize intensive treatment with daily sessions for a month or in adjusted periods, such as school holidays.
However, we were only able to plan this type of treatment after the initial evaluation.

We offer online consultations for clinical psychology and some initial guidance, especially for clients who live far from Porto.
However, for evaluations with qEEG and Neurofeedback, face-to-face assistance is necessary, since the use of specialized equipment requires the physical presence of clients.
ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental condition generally present since childhood. Although external factors, such as stress, can intensify symptoms, the origin of ADHD is primarily genetic and neurobiological.
